Introduction to Charcoal ~ Workshop by Rebecca R F Ferreira

I recently gave a workshop introducing drawing with charcoal at Heather Taylor´s atelier in Estoril.

We explored drawing with different types of charcoal and manipulating it with many different tools: rubbers, cloth, brushes, scalpels. We explored using a combination of these to create textures, light and dark, reflection and mark-making. We drew from life and also practised letting our intuition take control of our drawing, in an exercise of abstract drawing.

An enjoyable day was had by all!
